How does the point of sale system work?
1. Create New Account
At the start of every school year new customers will be set up with an account and a four digit account number that gives them access to use our service when they go through the lunch line. The infomation needed to create the new account is provided by the school, prior to first day of school. Students joining the school once the semester has started, will need to complete the New Account Form.
2. Activate New Account and Receive Private Pin Number/ID
Activating your account requires a deposit (prepayment) on your account. After payment is made, your child’s private four-digit pin number will be provided. To receive your pin number, either stop by the cafeteria or contact our Head Office either by telephone or email.
3. Determining how much to deposit?
The minimum payment amount is 10,000 yen. To avoid negative balances and the hassle of making continual payments throughout the year, we recommend the following deposit guidelines:
| I intend to use the account the following way | Deposit Amount |
Use account for snack time and the occasional lunch |
10,000 yen |
Daily lunch usage. Depending on snacking, this plan should cover around one semester of usage. |
50,000 yen |
Daily lunch usage. Depending on breakfast and afternoon snack programs, the deposit should cover most of the school year. |
100,000 yen |
Annual Lunch Only Plan: Daily lunch provided to student for entire year. This plan is only available at selected school. |

4. Using your Account
Using your account and navigating through the cafeteria is a breeze. We recommend that you visit the cafeteria with your child and our friend staff will be happy to give you a tour of the cafeteria facilities.
Step 1: Pickup a lunch tray.
Step 2: Walk through the buffet line, taking rice, salad, vegetables, main dish, side dish and dessert.
Step 3: Enter your four digit pin number into the key pad. Cashiers are ready to help if it’s your first time.
Step 4: Pick up silverware, condiments and drink on your way to your table.
Note: Usually after the first two or three days children have mastered the cafeteria.
5. Managing Accounts
Every time you purchase breakfast, lunch or snack, your account records the purchase and deducts the funds from your account. At any time you can view your current balance either by looking at the register screen or by creating an online (internet) account that communicates with the school POS software. Once a day the local school register software uploads daily activities and usage.
