HISTORY

Cezars international has been in the food service business in Japan for over 11 years. With a restaurant located in Nagoya and food service operations in International schools throughout Japan, Cezars has the experience to take care of your schools needs. Since starting our services at the Nagoya International School, Cezars Kitchen is now feeding almost 2,500 children, parents and school staff on a daily basis.

OUR GOALS

Our goals are to provide healthy, affordable and fast school meals and snacks for students, teachers and parents within the international school community.

With our focus on nutrition, it is our goal to provide the ability for patrons of our service to see the nutritional value of every food that is served on a daily basis. By the start of the school year in August of 2007 you will be able to view the nutritional values and recipes of all of our menu items.

CEZARS KITCHEN STAFF

All of our staff receive extensive training in food safety and at least one of our staff at each school is a licensed chef with extensive knowledge in quality food production. Most of our staff are bilingual, and all of our staff enjoy working with children and providing them with the most nutritional food available.

Our staff are the key to our success and will continuously aim to exceed your expectations!

SAFETY

We continuously monitor worldwide food safety standards and make every effort possible to provide your children with the safest food products available on the market. Our kitchens and serving areas are inspected monthly for safety and cleanliness.

OUR FOOD / MENU

Our food is of the highest standards and caters to the palates of the individuals we serve. We are continuously looking for ways to improve our quality and are changing and upgrading the menu to keep the foods fresh at all times. We have implemented an online survey for you to let us know what new foods or services you would like to see us offer. You can also check all of our recipes and their nutritional data on this website.

Please go to the menu section of this site to view all of our current (and many of our previous) menus that we have had on offer.

CEZARS DEBIT SYSTEM

Cezars Kitchen works on a debit system that enables all of our users to enjoy our services without the need for using cash on a daily basis. Make a payment prior to using the service and start enjoying our great food, snacks and drinks.

At the start of every school year new customers will be set up with an account and a four digit account number that gives them access to use our service when they go through the food line. We make every effort to provide you this information prior to the start of the school year via email or post. If we are unable to send you the information then we can provide that to you in person at the school prior to or during the school year. Every student and teacher will have an account in our system at the start of the school year. Activating your account requires a deposit into our system.

You or your child will be informed on the first day of school how to use your account and many of the other aspects of our service. Children are usually given a tour of the cafeteria facilities prior to the first lunch service and are walked though the line so they know how to navigate once lunchtime arrives. They are also given their account number that they will need to enter on a keypad when buying their breakfast, lunch or snacks. The number is usually given to them in the form of a card that will have their picture on it and account number. The card is just to help them remember there number and can be disposed of after they feel confident without it.

The first day is always a bit of a challenge and we do as much as we can to ensure that all goes smoothly. We will have a daily display plate of what the perfect meal looks like to help everyone understand portion size and our recommended nutritional combinations. Usually after the first two or three days the kids have mastered the system and have forgotten that a previous system ever existed.

Once you start using our system all transactions are deducted from your account through our cafeterias software. With each purchase or deposit your account balance will reflect the change. At any given time you will be able to see what is left in your account. Check all transactions by looking online and going to Pay Pams (SEE Below) or asking the staff at your cafeteria.

We offer both set meals and a la carte choices every day. We also offer a wide variety of snacks including fruit, granola bars, and much more. Drinks are also available and include drinks from all of the major vendors in Japan.

PLAN CHOICES

All of our plans offer children the choice of a la carte or set meals, as well as any of the snacks and drinks sold in the cafeteria. The difference between the three plans (Basic, Silver and Gold) is the amount of the deposit and how it affects the price of a set meal. The Basic Plan requires the least deposit and the set meals in the basic plan are the most expensive. The Gold plan requires the largest deposit but also has the largest discounts on the set meal price. A la carte prices and snack prices are the same with all plans.

Set meals consist of choices from our buffet line including two hot main dishes, vegetables of the day, fresh home made soup, two crisp salads, one mouth watering dessert, and a set meal drink (Silver and Gold plans only for the set meal drink). Drinks included in the set meal are marked as such. Pack milk drinks are discounted when included in set meals to an additional ¥55 extra (due to the high price of dairy products). We will do our best to advise the children of items that are not included in their plan but cannot take responsibility for additional charges if those items are selected.

Each plan allows for selections from the buffet based on instructions on quantities provided by the staff and display plates available for all to view. Going back into the buffet line and getting seconds would require an additional charge. As the children get older they require more food on their plates, which is reflected in the different plan prices for pre-school, elementary, middle and high school. When going through the line will we advise them if the volume of food exceeds the limit acceptable for their particular set. In addition please be advised that once a month we provide a special roast menu day with a ¥150 extra charge per set meal.

The following are the plan choices and how they vary by deposit amount. The larger the deposit made the bigger the discount of the set meal price. All individual meal prices can be obtained by contacting your school directly or emailing Cezars Kitchen at info@cezarskitchen.com.

1. BASIC PLAN (Minimum Deposit of ¥15,000)

  • The Basic Plan allows the minimum payment to start using our cafeteria services. Students may choose to select a la carte items, a set meal or any of the products available for sale. There is no discount on the set menu price for the basic plan.

2.SILVER PLAN (Minimum Deposit of ¥50, 000 or ¥25,000 for pre-school**)

  • The Silver Plan allows for the purchase of a set meal including one set meal drink at a discount price compared to the Basic plan. You may choose a la carte items as well.

** An additional payment of ¥25,000 upon entry to elementary school (from pre school) is required to stay on the Silver plan. If this is not received the account will be changed to a Basic plan and your child will be notified when making a purchase.

3. GOLD PLAN (Minimum Deposit of ¥100,000 or ¥50,000 for pre-school**)

  • The Gold Plan allows for the purchase of a set meal with one set meal drink included in the price at a larger discount to the Basic and Silver plans. This is the cheapest option for set meal purchases. You may choose a la carte items as well.

** An additional payment of ¥50,000 upon entry to elementary school (from Pre School) is required to stay on the Gold Plan. If this is not received the account will be changed to a Silver Plan and your child will be notified when making a purchase.
THE BEST PLAN FOR MY CHILD?

If you or your child plans on being at the school for at least a year the Gold plan is recommended, as it will save you time and money in the long run. The Gold Plan gives you the greatest discount on your set meal price, and like all our plans, any money not used will be refunded if you or your child leaves the school. As the Gold plans deposit amount is the largest you will also not need to take the time to make as many deposits through out the year.

PLAN CHANGES / NEGATIVE BALANCES

In the event you would like to change your plan from a Basic to a discount plan (Silver or Gold) or from a discount plan to a Basic, you may do so without penalty. Plan changes will only go into effect from the date that you request it and payment is received and will not have any bearing on past transactions. The minimum deposit for each plan in addition to any negative balance due on the account must be received before the plans can be adjusted. If your account goes into the negative you will need to pay that back to zero and then decide which plan would best suit your needs. For example, if you decided on the Gold Plan then you would need to pay the Gold Plan fee of ¥100,000 plus any negative amount that was owed.

Gold and Silver Plans that go into a negative balance will be charged according to the basic plan rates and your child will be informed when making set plan transactions.

All accounts that fall below a - ¥5,000 (minus) balance will be temporarily suspended until payment is received. However because it is Cezars Kitchen's policy never to deny a child food, a sandwich and bottle of water can be purchased if the child has no school lunch provided for them.

We make every effort to contact you by email and phone or will provide a note with your children to let you know when your account is getting low. You can also register with Pay Pams (on line account system) and receive automatic email reminders to let you know when your account is running low.

REFUNDS

We will refund the total remaining balance by bank transfer to your Japanese bank account only if you or your child is leaving the school. In the case of international transfers, any transfer fees will be deducted from your account balance. In the event the total remaining balance is 3000 yen or less, the refund can be handled at the school. In this case, please contact the school directly to schedule a time that you can pick up the refund.

If you have a question or concern when reviewing your account on line prior to leaving the school please don't hesitate to contact refunds@cezarskitchen.com. Please be advised that we can only audit your account 3 months prior to today's date, therefore we encourage you to check your account on-line regularly and to notify us of any discrepancies or questions immediately.

RESTRICTIONS ON ACCOUNTS

If you wish your children's accounts to be limited or restricted in any way, please notify us by email at restrictions@cezarskitchen.com or at the school directly and we will restrict their account. Monetary restrictions (Spending limits) or food restrictions (No snacks, only set meals, etc) are all ok.
Additionally, if your son or daughter is allergic to a specific spice or food, you can also let us know and we will make a note to their account. It is essential to the success of our system that you check your child's account on a regular basis to ensure that they are using the system in an acceptable way. If you are checking regularly you may be able to see a situation that can be controlled through our cafeterias restriction process.

It is our policy not to refuse a child lunch or snacks unless you have restricted a product that we offer. Parents should advise children on spending habits and limitations, and inform Cezars Kitchen if monitoring is required. We are happy to implement restrictions to their accounts if requested.

PRICES

We try to set our prices at market levels and will do our best to provide you with the best value possible. Please understand that we cannot always get the same prices as some of the major department stores or discount shops due to their ability to buy their products in bulk. Our service is meant to be a way for you to provide your children with quality meals, snacks and drinks while offering the convenience of not having to prepare your child's lunch on a daily basis. Our prices may vary from school to school so please contact your school by email to info@cezarskitchen.com or visit the cafeteria to get the most up to date price list.

PAYMENT METHODS

There are currently three types of payments available. Payment can be made by:

- Cash

Cash payments can be received every day from 8:00am to 11:00am and 1:30pm to 4:30pm in the cafeteria. A receipt for payment will always be provided - please retain this for your records.

- Bank transfer

Payment can be made by bank wire transfer to the Cezars Kitchen bank account any time. To ensure your payment is applied correctly, we ask that you include the account holder name and account number in the transfer description that our bank will receive. Once you have made the transfer please send us an email to payments@cezarskitchen.com or fax to 052-229-8590 including your account name, account number, school, amount of payment, name on bank account, and your address and phone number.

If there are any bank tranfering charges from the bank, you are responsible for payment of these charges. For example, if you deposit 320,000 yen via bank transfer and the bank charges a fee of 4000 yen to process this transfer, Cezars Kitchen is not responsible for incuring this bank fee. If you are making a bank transfer it is very important that you send us this information so we can quickly record your transfer onto your account. There is always a lag time of a few days between receiving a bank transfer and making the necessary changes to the account. Your patience in this matter is greatly appreciated.

OUR PROMISE TO YOU

We will encourage your children to have a healthy and balanced meal. If they do not take a balanced meal we will, when possible, advise them to go back and take additional items. Our staff are all trained to look out for your children's better interests when it comes to eating their breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks. If we see a trend or potentially harmful eating habit we will do our best to educate them on ways of correcting it and/or make a friendly call to you.
